Meet Tracey

In many ways, it feels like flowers found me—but the dream of building something of my own began much earlier. I grew up watching my parents, who came from Portugal and Brazil, build a life and a family business through hard work, resilience, and care for the people they served. My father worked with his hands and filled our home and yard with flowers and gardens, while my mother helped build the business behind the scenes, forming relationships with customers and keeping everything moving. Watching them build something from the ground up shaped both my love of nature and my dream of one day creating a business of my own.

For years, I knew I wanted to build something—I just didn’t know what it would be. Then I began creating floral arrangements, and something clicked. Flowers brought together so many things I already loved: nature, creativity, color and beauty, helping people, and connecting with others.

I’ve always loved the feeling flowers create—the happiness of receiving them, the excitement of giving them, and the way they can communicate love, celebration, comfort, gratitude, or thoughtfulness without needing many words.

Today, every arrangement I create is personal to me. I want the person picking it up to light up when they see it and feel excited to give it—and I want the person receiving it to feel the love and intention behind why it was sent. I put care into choosing, preparing, and designing each arrangement so that it is not only beautiful when it leaves my hands, but something the recipient can enjoy for as long as possible.

Tavares Flower House may be beginning with flowers, but the dream behind it is rooted in something bigger: creating beauty, bringing people together, celebrating meaningful moments, and building something lasting in the community I serve.
